Our story

Nadia opened Scissor in a small Williamsburg storefront after years of watching friends get turned away or overcharged because of the way their hair grew. She hired a barber and a colourist on day one and put them on the same floor.
Today the team is twelve strong, the price list still has no gender column, and every visit still starts with a proper conversation at the mirror.
We built the salon we always wanted to walk into: calm, honest and open to everyone.

What we stand for
Four promises, every visit.
The principles behind every cut, colour and conversation at Scissor.
01
Priced by time, never by gender
Every price is set by the service, the length of your hair and the minutes it takes. Nothing else.
02
Consultation first
Ten unhurried minutes at the mirror before anything is cut or coloured, so you know the plan and the price.
03
Every texture, every person
Our team trains across fades, coils, curls and fine straight hair, and keeps learning every season.
04
Care beyond the chair
Honest product advice and styling tips, so your hair looks as good at home as it does in the studio.
